A pair of AAPS seniors have advanced to the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals in June at the Henry Ford Museum. Kashvi Rai from Huron earned 2nd place and a Best in Region for her Vesticator invention and Skyline’s Elliott Scully claimed third place for his invention of the Automatic Pedestrian Crossing Detection.

I was able to help a student with housing instability and a major medical condition get reestablished with a specialty health care team.  Through this connection and nursing support in the school environment, we were able to provide stability for food, housing, and get a medical procedure to reverse a tracheostomy.  This had a huge impact on this child’s future medical picture and improved the quality of life.  To know that you were pivotal in making this happen for a child and family is humbling and very impactful.

Sixty AAPS students in grades 5-12 competed in the Academic Games Leagues of America National Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. recently and delivered an outstanding performance.

Every student returned returned with at least one medal.

Skyline junior Taylor Phillips earned Honorable Mention in C-SPAN’s national StudentCam competition. Phillips’ video, Unalienable Rights and the Tulsa Race Massacre earned her a $250 prize and a visit from C-SPAN’s Rachel Katz, representatives from U.S. and state Senators and the Board of Education last week.
