Pre-enrollment applications for the 2025-26 school year opened on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Enrollment for neighborhood zoned schools are open for new students for grades Young 5 through 12 and will remain open through the 2025-26 school year.

Please note that the Ann Arbor Public Schools Young 5s program is an optional opportunity for those students who meet the age criteria for entrance. To be eligible students must turn five between May 1, and December 1, 2025. The Young 5s program is a district-wide program and enrollment is limited to space availability. As such, enrollment is not guaranteed at neighborhood schools

If you’re interested in our Young 5s program for your student, we highly encourage families to enroll as soon as possible.

Our first In-District Transfer window is available; these dates also apply to the Community High Lottery and Ann Arbor Open Lottery. In-District transfers are required for students who wish to attend a school that is not their neighborhood zoned school. All currently approved School of Choice and Non Resident Child of Employee AAPS students rising into grade 6 or 9 for the 2025-26 school year are required to apply for in-district transfer.
